So, when I saw the idea on Martha Stewart's website to store paint in canning jars I knew that's what I wanted to do.
I emptied out all my old paint cans into jars and then label the jars accordingly.
If there was a color tag on the paint can, I stuck it to the back of the jar.
On the tops of the jars, I labeled where I used that particular color, for future touch ups.
By putting the paint in these jars I was able to get rid of all of these old grungy paint cans.
Now, my paint is all neat and will be much easier to make touch ups as well.
I love it!
Blessings,

Lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Carrie, and it looks pretty too :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice and pretty! My husband use to say I had my own Home Depot paint aisle in the basement under the stairs. It was sooooo bad. :( lol Luckily, I was able to donate most of the paint to the drama department at the local high school. They use the paint to decorate stage props, etc. Yay! :)

I love it too! It is a much better way to keep paint, I can't tell you how many times I have just enough paint left in the can that I don't want to throw it away but the lid doesn't ever seem to fit right again and the paint just ends up drying up anyway. I think your jar solution would keep the paint much longer! It's even kind of pretty :o)

AH! Great idea! We have paint cans hidden all over our house and it drives me crazy! I love it.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love this! I thought about putting some of our paint into smaller "touch up" containers, but couldn't think about what would seal well enough to make it worth it! I'll be doing this!
ReplyDeleteI'll be putting this on my to do list!!!! Now if I cold just find the darn labels I pinned for when I came across something as fantastic as this!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea. Thank you very much....I'm gonna need a lot of mason jars.....
