Bed Frame Bench

I know it's not officially summer but the weather here in NE Ohio has certainly been beautiful!!  Over the weekend we had the privilege of going to a MLB game as a family and then staying for a post-game Brandon Heath concert!
It was a lot of fun and was a gorgeous day to hang out at the ball field.  Yep, that's me...the shorty next to all my big men!  Why do they grow up so quickly!!??
Anyway, these beautiful days make me want to spruce up my deck for greater enjoyment in the days ahead.  Last summer I showed you the pieces parts from an old bunk bed that I used for displaying flowers.
Then I gave you the hint of what I would do with the rest of the parts...
And you were right!  We turned it into a bench.
The bench was used most of the summer last year without me painting it...I know, shame on me.  But not this summer.  I used Terra Cotta Milk Paint and gave it a beautiful, new look.
I stenciled our wedding year on the back of the bench.

I LOVE the new look!  Now, I'm looking forward to painting other pieces out there too.

 Just a side note...the clematis that is wrapping around the bench has climbed from the ground...about 18 feet below and is making its way up on my deck...{Love it}
Are you getting things spruced up for summer?
Don't forget that a little paint can go a LONG way!!
Blessings,

  7. Hi, I just found you through, I think it was Thrifty 101 linky party? I spotted that bench, and zoomed in! I myself, have a headboard and footrest, resting (ha!ha!) in my shed right this very minute, which I got for a bed frame, which, unfortunately, the mechanics of it were not compatible with. Man, oh man, I've just discovered what I'm going to do with it!

    And...I just became your newest follower, yay! Would be so appreciative if you would reciprocate and follow back! Thanks a bunch!

    Have a great weekend! Again, love that bench!!!

  18. I love it! You sure have a way of picking just the right colors of paint. It looks beautiful and I would have never guessed that it started as a bed. Great job! :)

    P.S. This must be the year for the clematis. I almost pulled mine out last year because it looked so terrible, but I was SO glad that I didn't. It has been beautiful this year.
