Organizing Challenge Week 11 - My Bedroom Closet

I've told you several times that my house is small.  The closet I share with My Better Half is VERY small but it works for us.  A small closet motivates me to purge more often and not hang on to clothes that may or may not ever fit me again (wink, wink)!
My closet was bursting at the seams (much like other people things in this house) and needed help.  So needless to say, it was my organization project this week.
I started with the shelf that holds our under clothes.  I bought these matching boxes a couple years ago and they work well to hold this kind of stuff.  My BIL built this shelf for my birthday a couple of years ago...didn't he do a great job!?  I emptied everything out and started fresh...separating white and dark socks, undies, slips, tshirts, and so on.  LOVE, love, love it now.
I showed you earlier in the week how I took a scrap piece of peg board, left over baskets, and spray paint and turned it into an organizer for my jewelry.  I love being able to see it all and being able to easily access what I want.
Next, I went through the closet itself and purged.
All of these clothes and many more went to charity this week.  Ahhhh, what a good feeling!
I switched out clothes hangers from around the house so all the ones in my organized closet are white.
So, here is the finished, organized closet.

Don't you love it!?  I actually want to get dressed now...oh well maybe not...my jammies are still more comfy!!
Anyway, next week I'm on to organizing the rest of my bedroom.  My built-ins and attic crawl space...should be messy!!
Blessings,

  2. I had a closet purge and full wipe-down recently. I wish it was for something as positive as your cleaning challenge. Mine was due to a mouse shuffling its mortal coil in the wall behind the closet. Yours looks GREAT!

  4. a little closet hint...when you hang up your clothes..hang the hanger backward..when you wear the item put it back on the hanger the right way.. when you purge you can easily see what you haven't worn.. the backward hangers were never worn.

My Mama used to say, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
I'll add, "If you HAVE something nice to say, share generously."
