I go through spurts and this is one of those times that I'm not really into it. I have all the supplies (and then some) and have been looking and finding other uses for much of my "stuff", particularly the scrapbook paper.
I've used it for label making around the house:
My Princess has gotten in the New Year organization going on here and wanted some labels for her baskets too.
Flowers cut out of scrapbook paper add color and detail to her room as well.
I've used the less desirable scrapbook paper to cut out stencils to make several signs.
Check out the tutorial for this sign HERE
These diy magazine boxes were covered in scrapbook paper too.
The mod podging of paper on these was not my finest work...but it certainly wasn't the paper's fault!
I've been organizing my scrapbook crafting area lately and with all the inspiration out there, I've decided that practical is not enough...it has to be pretty too! So, since I've been hanging onto my old coffee cans to use in my crafting area, I got busy with the scrapbook paper and covered the cans and made labels for them.
I spruced up these containers too.
What a difference a little paper makes!
Here's the coffee can from my coffee corner. I can leave it out all the time and it looks more like a decoration than what it really is!
I found these cork boards at ReStore for $.25 each. I was going to cover them with material and hang them in my craft area but I didn't have the right material and didn't want to have to buy any.
So I got the idea to just cover them with scrapbook paper.
They can be considered a wall hanging or used for the purpose intended.
Ok, so how many times did I say scrapbook paper?? Just kidding! Do you have any scrapbook paper projects? I would love to see them!
Blessings,

Will you please tell me how you hung those cork boards that you covered with scrapbook paper? I have some and can't figure out what to do with them. I like to scrapbook, but I'm starting to worry about where to keep all of them when they're finished.
ReplyDeleteI put a single nail in them at the top and then used little double-sided adhesive foamies on the back (they were some of my scrapbook supplies as well). The foamies are just adhesive enough to get the cork boards not to swing around but not too sticky to mess with the wall paint.
DeleteI just moved all my scrapbooks to the hope chest to get them out of my scrapbook area...they really do take up a lot of space. I scrapbooked each of my kids lives individually up to 5 years old and did a few special occasion/trip albums.
Your coffee cans look great, and that is an awesome deal on the cork boards; I was looking at them at Target the other day!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of what you have on hand!!! All look great!
ReplyDeleteI love scrapbook paper. Your projects turned out so nice.
ReplyDeleteI love the signs you made. I haven't tried one yet but I have my mod podge ready to go :) I just need to find a great looking old board!
Sherry's Bees Nest
Looks fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteCarrie,
ReplyDeleteThese are great ideas. I love the ribbon holder from the other day. If I ever get a crafting room I need to put my ribbon out as well. Some I have had for close to ten years but at twentyfive cents a roll or less they can sit in my box until I find use for them, you know?

ReplyDeleteI am not a scrapbooker. I think it's the only craft I haven't gotten into but I have bought supplies for it. I love your coffee can projects and the magazine holders as I have lots of both! You are an inspiration! Keep up the good work!
Great ideas!! I'm also a lover of scrapbook paper. But, not really scrapbooking!! :)

ReplyDeleteI think scrapbook paper is so under-utilized! But you are on a roll! You also have great taste in coordinating your paper selections. I've even used paper to cover pieces of galvanized metal for magnetic boards too! So pretty if you're not into the industrial look.
ReplyDeleteGo you! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas....I'd love for you to share this @CountryMommaCooks Link & Greet Party

ReplyDeleteSorry Jennifer, I don't have any more of the cans. I sure wish I did. We quit drinking Aldi's coffee and that is where I got the cans...we're back to Folgers and their cans aren't as easy to work with!
