The inspiration and ideas were tremendous.
After seeing all those Christmas trees, I thought I'd show you mine. Mine doesn't compare to those in appearance but it is filled with memories as every year we add at least one new ornament and it is usually from a trip we have been on or a special memory we made that year.Several weeks ago, I showed you a curbside find my Better Half discovered.
I wasn't sure what I would use it for but I knew there were plenty possibilities.
We were getting ready to put our Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving evening and the thought popped into my head to put my Christmas tree into this old wash tub.
It would make my thrift store Christmas tree look a little rustic and potentially more real by placing it in this tub. I had some tulle that I had used for a tree-skirt last year...I stuffed in the tub to give it some color at the base.
{LOVE} the result!!

That is a great idea! I love the look.
ReplyDeleteLove your ornaments. Growing up we always got to pick out 1 new ornament to but on the tree. When I moved out my mom gave me all of the ones I had picked out over the years. Last year I decided I was tired of the miss matched ornament. I wanted a pretty tree. I got all matching ornaments. Matching ribbon to make into a tree topper and a beautiful Christmas tree skirt. It was the best looking tree I had seen in years yet I hated it. It just didn't feel the same without all of the meaningful ornaments and memories that came with them.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the bucket. It looks fabulous.

I love the tree in the washtub! I also love roadside finds!!!
ReplyDeleteYour tree would fit right in there with the professionally decorated ones. Love the whinsy of sock monkeys playing at the top.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can personalize some steel (ok silver metal) cookie cutters to use as ornaments and tie the look together.
Just a thought. It does not need anything else.
That was a great find, as soon as I seen it I knew it would make a great Christmas Tree holder. I had one but it was too small, I have fake tree so just used the top 2 parts and now it fits. I love the way the tree looks inside, it gives you tree a very vintage look. I like that it is a little beat up, guess it's earned it's age! Would you please share this over at Sunday's Best party going on now. Sharing is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! So sweet of you to give it a home since it's been kicked around a bit! Your tree looks terrific! You might want to come link it the the Blogger Block Christmas Tree Party that is currently in progress!
