This weekend was a crazy garage sale weekend. Everywhere I looked there was another one. So many garage sales...so little time!! My sister and I headed out early Saturday morning to a ritzy development with over 35 garage sales. It... Was... Awesome!!! My van was loaded with amazing deals. I have so many new projects to work on and I'm very excited to show you the before picture of a $10 deal I scored.
A $10 playhouse...I couldn't believe it. The potential is incredible. I can't wait to get it fixed up. You'll be the first to see it when I'm done. $10...still can't believe it.
Anyway, last week I showed you the finished product of my staircase. I used to have a gallery of photos hanging on the walls going up the steps. But after we finished the steps I was afraid to hang all those pictures back up fearing one would fall and gouge one of my new steps. So, I wanted something more stable that I didn't have to worry about falling off the wall but something that I could still display several pictures at a time.
I've seen many people using cabinet doors for picture frames but none quite like this.
Each of these cabinet doors were only $4 at my local Restore.
I just painted the cabinet doors and then applied stain over top of the paint to give it it's current color.
Next, I tied ribbon around these big paper clips.
Then I used Gorilla Glue to glue the clips in place. Be careful if you've never used Gorilla Glue before. I didn't read the instructions and so after I glued down my clips I realized that the glue expands. Now I know...
My husband hung and wired them to the wall so there is very little chance of them falling and I like them just as much as I liked the gallery walls.
Thanks for visiting and don't forget to check back and see the progress on the $10 playhouse!

ReplyDelete35 sales! I would have been shrieking :D
ReplyDeleteI've never seen cabinet doors as frames before. I just moved and popped off two doors that were giving me problems, this is a great way to re-purpose them!
